Look, we're not going to pretend 1EdgeIT has been around for twenty years. We haven't. What we do have is a team that spent years working inside higher ed IT, on ERP implementations, infrastructure, and campus technology environments, before any of us decided to start this company. Here's the honest version of why 1EdgeIT exists. We kept watching the same problems play out at institution after institution: an ERP nobody fully understood anymore, a website that hadn't been touched since a design trend that's long over, a compliance deadline that snuck up faster than anyone expected, an IT team stretched across way too much. None of that is a staffing failure. It's just what happens when technology keeps moving and budgets don't move with it.

But here's the thing: every person on this team spent years inside higher ed IT before we ever started this company. ERP implementations, infrastructure, the whole mess of campus tech that everyone else in your building takes for granted until it breaks. So yes, the company is young. What's not young is the experience behind it. That's really the bet we're asking you to make.
No, and honestly, this one matters more than people think. We don't have a partnership with Ellucian pushing us toward Banner, and we're not chasing an AWS quota. If Colleague is working fine for your institution, we'll say so, even if that means less work for us. If it's not working, we'll tell you that too. The whole point of not being tied to a vendor is that our advice actually means something.
Right now, we're the sharpest fit for smaller private colleges and K-12 private or independent institutions, places where the IT team is two or three people wearing five hats each. That's not a knock on bigger institutions, it's just where we can move fast and actually be useful without a six-month ramp-up. If that's not you, still worth a conversation. We'll be straight with you either way.
Depends entirely on what you need. Some schools want us running the whole thing, help desk, infrastructure, ERP, all of it. Others just need one piece fixed, like an accessibility deadline nobody's dealt with yet. Business hours coverage is standard, and we can extend to 24x7 during the windows where it actually matters, registration week, financial aid disbursement, that kind of thing. We're not going to sell you a bloated package upfront. We'll figure out what you actually need on a call first.
